Ghost Moth is:
Daniel Carter on flute, clarinet, trumpet, alto and tenor sax
Todd Brooks on prepared guitar and electronics
Robbie McDonald on homemade analog synth boxes & tape manipulation
Spontaneous ecstatic cosmic blissers combining the frequencies and tones of oscillators, handmade synths, prepared guitar, tape loops, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, and flute.
Ghost Mothbegan in April 2006 when guitarist/junk-jammer, Todd Brooks (CM*Chaos Majik, Abuse Report, Mialessot) asked free-jazz multi-instrumentalist Daniel Carter (Test! / Other Dimensions in Music) to join with him and knobbie-twister, Robbie McDonald (Old Ghost / Skulking) for a recording session. The result of that performance laid the foundation of what was to come. The first 2 recordings were released under the moniker, Mialessot w/ Daniel Carter & Old Ghost. They played two shows as Hemorrhage, but have since been known as Ghost Moth.
Ghost Moth establishes each space it inhabits as a Temporary Autonomous Zone (T.A.Z.) declaring absolute freedom, "freedom of" and "freedom from". Leaderless in collaboration. A belief in spontaneity and anarchy as a gateway to the sublime.
Todd Brooks also runs Pendu Org Arts and Actions which includes Pendu Magazine/Gallery, Pendu Sound Recordings, and Pendu Bookshop. Robbie McDonald runs t.b.t.d. tapes.
